Bremerton Foundation Excavation & Waterproofing

This house is right on the water. Their concrete bulkhead was removed last year and replaced with a rockery. This changed the soil characteristics and the ground remained saturated for longer periods. When a high tide of 13’ 7’” coincided with a heavy rain, their basement flooded.

Kitsap Drainage and Waterproofing excavated the perimeter, waterproofed the foundation, installed a new footing drain, installed a new roof drain and french drain and regraded the yard.

You can see the tight access between the houses. Egress was off of a small one way street, and below you can see the ramp we had to build in order to get our machinery up and downs a retaining wall.

In order to get a continuous membrane, we had to support the deck, remove the stairs and do some hand digging.

An 8’ deep sump basin was installed in order to relieve the footing drains. A sump pump and battery backup sump pump was installed in order to discharge the ground water above high tide.
