Types and Locations of Crawlspace Insulation

Crawl spaces are typically insulated at two locations: the first floor decking and the stem wal.

Floor Insulation

Typically, crawl spaces are not conditioned areas, and insulation is installed in the first floor framing. This is typically unfaced batting.

Foundation Insulation

Rigid Insulation will be installed around the foundation perimeter for a full encapsulation. The vents are closed and the space is conditioned.
